A very warm welcome to Serenity School Maidstone.
I am truly proud and honoured to serve as Headteacher of this exceptional school, situated in the heart of Maidstone. With extensive senior leadership experience across specialist and inclusive education, I bring an unwavering belief in holistic learning and the power of schools to change lives.
At the core of everything I do is a simple principle: every child comes first.
I firmly believe that education should develop the whole person, nurturing emotional wellbeing, communication, independence, confidence and aspiration—not just academic progress. Every decision I make is guided by placing our students at the heart of the process, ensuring that their voices, safety, happiness and future possibilities shape our direction.
Serenity School Maidstone is a mixed specialist day school for up to 150 children and young people aged 5–18, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan and a primary diagnosis of autism and wider SEND. Our approach is therapeutic, pupil-centred and deeply rooted in holistic education—a place where learning is personalised, meaningful, and focused on lifelong success.
Here, safeguarding and promoting student welfare underpins all we do, alongside high expectations, positive relationships, and a culture of kindness. Our school community is more than a setting—it is a family, one that encourages each student to feel seen, valued and connected to something bigger than themselves.
Our dedicated and highly skilled staff team share a deep passion for inclusion, independence and self-worth. Together, we provide rich learning experiences, expert support, and environments in which pupils can flourish, grow and celebrate:
- Their independence
- Their happiness
- Their achievements
- Their individual potential
- Their future pathway into adulthood
We take care of:
Ourselves. Each other. Our learning. Our school. Our community. Our future.
We support our pupils to thrive through:
- A broad, balanced and thoughtfully sequenced curriculum matched to individual learning pathways
- Recognised accreditations that open doors to education and training beyond school
- A curriculum for life that builds understanding of the world around them
- Well-planned opportunities to grow resilience, confidence, character and wellbeing
- Specialist therapeutic input in line with EHCPs, including Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Pastoral support
- Real-world learning, independence development, wellbeing support and work-related opportunities for our older learners
- A nurturing community that understands the wider influences on children’s lives and champions every student, regardless of background or previous experience
I know that a child’s success is strengthened when families and schools work together. I deeply value our partnerships with parents, carers, professionals and the local community and actively encourage open communication, shared ambitions and collaborative support.
We warmly welcome visits from prospective pupils, families, and partner agencies. For further information or to arrange a visit, please contact our school office.
To request a place for your child, families should contact the Local Authority SEND team and request that they consult with Serenity School Maidstone.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our school. If you are seeking a place where your child will feel safe, supported, understood and part of a wider community—a place to belong, grow and thrive—then we would be delighted to meet you.
I very much look forward to welcoming you to Serenity School Maidstone.
