Every child who comes through our doors carries something remarkable, a story, a strength, a way of seeing the world that is entirely their own. My role, and the role of every member of our staff, is to see that, to nurture it, and to build the conditions in which each pupil can grow into the fullest version of themselves.

 

I came to Serenity School Old Palace with over twenty-five years of experience leading schools in Croydon, London and internationally. The communities I have served have repeatedly taught me,  that the most important thing any school can do is make every child feel genuinely known and have genuine voice in their education.

 

My vision for Serenity School Old Palace is simple to state and serious to pursue that every pupil leaves us more confident, more curious, and more capable than when they arrived. Equipped not just with knowledge and skills, but with a deep belief in their own worth and potential. For our pupils, many of whom have experienced settings that did not always see what they were capable of, that belief is not a luxury. It is the foundation of everything.

 

Our values are inclusion, dignity, ambition, and joy. Inclusion means that every child belongs here, fully and without condition. Dignity means that every interaction in this school between staff and pupils, between pupils and their peers, between the school and its families is rooted in respect. Ambition means that we hold high expectations for every child, always, because they deserve nothing less. And joy means that we pursue all of this with warmth, with laughter, and with the genuine belief that school should be a place children want to be.

 

To our pupils: you are why we are here. Every decision we make, every lesson we plan, every conversation we have is about you, your safety, your happiness, and your future. We are on your side, completely and without reservation.

 

To our families: you are our partners. You know your children better than anyone, and we will always listen. We will be honest with you, we will communicate with you, and we will work alongside you because the best outcomes for children happen when school and home are pulling in the same direction.

 

To our visitors and wider community: you are very welcome here. Serenity School Old Palace is a school that believes in its community and in its place within it, and we are proud to open our doors to those who share our commitment to the children of Croydon.

 

It is an honour to lead this school and with each of our teams that I have had the privilege of leading; we will be striving to provide the best opportunities for your child.

 

Our intention is to create the moments a child who once struggled to walk through a school door begins to run toward it.
