Admissions Statement

Serenity School offers a nurturing and inclusive environment for boys and girls aged 5 to 18 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), excluding those with behavioural needs. All our pupils have either a statement of Special Educational Needs or an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
 
Our admissions process begins with a thorough assessment to identify the child’s learning challenges. Our pupils often have autism Spectrum Conditions and associated difficulties such as SLD, ADHD, attachment disorders, and other learning difficulties. We focus on promoting independence and self-worth by removing learning and social barriers.
 
Referrals are made by local authorities following a detailed assessment and consultation process. We conduct in-depth assessments for each referred pupil, providing detailed feedback to parents, carers, and local authority case workers. If a suitable place is available, we invite the child and their parents/carers for an interview and a school visit to understand our environment and meet our staff.
 
Admissions typically occur in September, with in-year admissions available based on local authority advice. We offer a transition period for pupils who have been out of school or experience high anxiety, aiming for full-time learning with continued support.
