Students yesterday had a thrilling and varied World Book Day, revelling in the joy of reading and story-telling. Students were off-timetable to take part in a suite of book-themed activities, from a book clue treasure hunt to story writing and book cover designing, with certificates and Smarties awarded to all who entered! Many staff and pupils elected to dress up and the “best dressed” were given a special chocolate bunny to reward their efforts (generously donated by Mr Jones). The winners were (drum roll please) Marija in Maple for her fantastic Mad Hatter and to Ms Forbes and Ms Forbes (slightly) Junior for their fantastic Mario and Luigi efforts.
Thanks to all the families for supporting their children with costumes, as I know it can be stressful! Thanks also to Ms Zia and Mrs Ahamed, who answered our invitation and came to read to Aman, Aleena and the rest of Olive class. Finally, thank you to Ms Arooj, our Literacy lead, for coordinating the day.
